OVERVIEW Assists engineers in the planning, design, development, fabrication, and testing of products, equipment, and processes for the Less Lethal product line. Uses engineering tools (CAD, engineering analysis, prototype fabrication techniques) to develop and test products from concept to production. Collect and prepare data for use in proposals. Design manufacturing process to meet cost, quality, safety, and schedule requirements. Provide technical support and troubleshooting for both in house and vendor processes. RESPONSIBILITIES Work closely with Engineers on developmental projects and produce prototype samples of varying degrees of complexity and material typesAssist in product testing and recording dataAnalyze and evaluate results during and after product testingProvide interactive feedback to engineering team on samples and/or issuesCompile testing data and reports - Conduct machine maintenance, as requiredAct as product liaison between development and manufacturingSupport ISO 9001 QMSPerform other duties consistent with the position as required or assigned QUALIFICATIONS 0-3 years’ experience as an engineering technician in supporting mechanical design engineering efforts in a hands-on product development, manufacturing, or test and evaluation environmentCAD and/or Solid Works experienceMachining /fabrication experienceKnowledge of machine shop equipment and proceduresProficient in various machine operationsExperience with experimental data and writing technical reportsGood understanding of fundamental engineering and physical principlesComfortable with firearms and explosives - Proficient in MS Office (Word/Excel)Excellent planning, organization and time management skillsMust be able to work independently with minimum support from engineersMust be mechanically inclined and capable of constructing/modifying test fixtures utilizing standard electrical toolsFamiliar with set-up and operation of instrumentation and data acquisition systems in support of product testingAbility to prioritize and handle multiple tasks - Knowledge of CNC milling is a plusHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferredAssociate’s Degree preferredVocational training and/or relevant experience will be considered in lieu of education**Employee is frequently exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.
